Mr. Deepak Ashish Kaul is a post graduate in Medieval Indian History from the Hindu College, University of Delhi. He joined the Indian Post and Telecommunication Accounts & Finance Service of the Government of India in 1995 at the age of 23 years. He has extensive experience in Finance and Accounting matters, having attended the 3rd Professional Training Course in Financial Management from the National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad, India.
In his career of 24+ years Mr. Kaul has worked in both the Postal and Telecommunication Departments of the Government of India managing their finances, streamlining their accounting and control procedures, audit coordination and trying to automate manual working practices, wherever possible. During 2011- 2015 he also worked in the Ministry of Culture as Director (Museums) supervising the work of the Central Government and ASI museums across the country. During this period he set up the country’s first digital repository of artifacts at CDAC, Pune along with the National Portal (museumsofindia.gov.in) From June 2016 – May 2019 he was the financial head of Doordarshan, India’s Public Service Broadcaster. It was in his tenure as ADG (Finance) that Doordarshan came out of red and started generating an operational surplus.
Since June 2019, Mr. Kaul has been working in the National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency as Director (F&A) on deputation. In the present capacity he is responsible for the administrative and financial matters of NRIDA and coordination with various states in respect of PMGSY related accounting and audit matters.
Mr. Kaul likes to travel and explore the rich and varied cultural heritage of India in his free time and to read books pertaining to historical monuments and sites.
