Dear Shri Manohar Joshi

I visited Amravati district on 12 and 13 December. The main purpose of any visit was, besides attending a few functions at the Amravati University, to see some tribal villages in the Melghat area and in particular to see the new roads connecting some of these villages.

I was quite happy to see the progress in the construction of new roads connecting the small villages. I few over Achalpur, Hattighat, Kalapandhari, Bordha, Ektai, Salita, Bhadum, Kuhi, Bortyakheda and Semadoh villages by helicopter and saw the road already constructed and also the work in progress.

I was informed that the work in 70 out of 91 targeted villages has been completed and that the work in the remaining 21 villages will be completed as scheduled by middle of next year. This is indeed a creditable achievement taking into account problems like remote location of these villages, difficulty in transporting construction materials and equipment and non-availability of skilled workers. I wish to convey through you, to the officers and staff of my appreciation for completing these works in time in extremely difficult conditions. I also wish to convey, through you, my thanks and congratulations to the Minister for Public works Shri Nitin Gadkari for the leadership he has provided for this programme.

With kind regards,

Yours Sincerely.
